chemical prints

alternative printing – creating images with chemicals and sunlight.

today many of the original processes invented over 100 years ago to create images onto paper or other mediums are becoming extremely popular, partly i feel as a reaction to over use of digital imaging and partly as they offer a means for enhancing creative image making where precision often steps aside for an print having more emotional content. who knows, all i do know is that they are fascinating ways of producing amazing and truly original works of fine art.

these processes have never gone away but in our connected world we are now discovering all these photographic artists with stained fingers in smelly workshops doing their own thing !
